Cloudmark reports on a new email scam that promises free pizza coupon (who can turn that down), only to trick users into downloading the Asprox malware and joining the Asprox botnet. This malware, of course, installs more malware. Most prevalent is malware for stealing bank login info and ransoware.
The email apparently looks quite believable, has no grammatical errors, and features reasonable branding. What’s off about it then? It claims the pizza is free, because Pizza Hut celebrates its 55th anniversary. Pizza Hut, however is 58! So keep your eyes open and don’t try to claim this great coupon.
